Eterna silk (www.eternasilk.com has a list of stockists). Comes in
both minitwist (like cotton floss) and stranded (more like filament
silk).

Splendor silk from Rainbow Gallery (available from Nordic Needle,
among others). www.rainbowgallery.com; www.nordicneedle.com

Needlepoint Inc Silk is available from many online sources. (no web
access atm, so I can't go hunting right now.)

Kreinik (www.kreinik.com) makes silk embroidery thread in a number of
weights and textures. (JoAnn's often has Kreinik sampler packs with
five or six colors.)

Most 'craft' stores (JoAnn's, Michael's, HobbyLobby, etc) will not
have much silk thread in stock. A well stocked needlework store will
probably have at least one variety of silk thread. Some quilting
stores carry silk embroidery floss as well.
