Finishing Bookmarkers
 

Is there a site anywhere on the net that shows or describes how to finish
the edges of bookmarkers.

Can`t help you with a site, but I cross stitch a single line all round, a
few rows in, and fray out the edges. Then I back the bookmark with iron on
sticky-backed felt. Nice neat job and easy-peasy.

That's a nice way to finish bookmarks Pat .... and you can also do what I
did for the grandkids for Christmas ... just turn over the edges and put
sticky felt on the back - quick and easy.

I haven't found a site that shows how to do this, but I have done a few
bookmarks myself. There is actual cross stitch bookmak fabric that you can get
with the sides already secure, and to finish the top of bottom of it, run a
back stitch along from one side the the other and then fray the edges - it
works great.

Here's what you do Pat - hold the bookmark down on the floor with your foot,
take your already-cut-out piece of sticky felt, lay it carefully on the back
of the bookmark, then stomp on it - poof, done. :-) Hope all is well
across the pond. Want some cold weather - it was minus 39C here the other
day - most delightful. (I have to say that cuz Sheena won't let me live
something down - the little f**t.

OK, Cleverclogs - that still doesn`t tell me how I turn over the
cotton-pickin` EDGES neatly! I`ll just send them to you.

Are you going to be at this shindig in June, when Gill gets up there? I`m

Dash it all. Pat,

All Canada needs is for you to join us!!!! DH is looking forward to the
lobster murder, and meeting the unseen friends I have!! I will send a report
and pictures after the trip. I am so glad I bought a relatively cheap , but
good, Sony digital camera. Jim gave me a gizmo on/in which I push the little
memorycard. I can them send it to the computer or a disk. I plan to fill it
100 times when I am Canada, especially with unflattering pictures of Sheena,
Ruby, Mavia, Sharon, and all the rest of my friends.
I forgot to warn you guys, that Jim can take any picture and put it a
different surrounding!! can't wait to see what he will do with this trip!!
His latest was to his aged aunt, showing her and hwer family on capeCod
waist high in water!!

Hmmmmm, I think Jim and I need to have a chat. I haven't figured out how to do
that yet -- see if you can get some basic directions for me, and e-mail them.

The edges turn over very easily Pat - what are you doing the bookmarks on
...... the ones I did for the grandkids (love all 4 of them) were the
pre-made bookmarks - I think they're Aida (blech for anything but bookmarks
or ornaments). You just go ahead and send 'em over Girl - I'll fix 'em up
in a hurry. (Ew, I love that word 'Cleverclogs')

You betcha - I can't wait for the shindig in June - or June in fact - when
I'm quite sure the temperature will not be MINUS 45 C.
