Quilting Motif Question
I'm working on a kaleidoscope quilt for my 15-year-old DS, and
discussing things with him, he was kind of interested in the idea of quilting dangerous, cranky animals (he likes to think of himself as cranky and dangerous, tee hee) into some of the blank spaces around the kaleidoscope blocks. I took the project along with me to Friday Sewing Frenzy at one of the LQS's, and someone suggested I use coloring book images. It didn't help me finish it there last night, but it was a great idea. Before I actually spend money, does anybody know where I could find such things on the internet? I'll go do a search, but I'm notoriously bad at internet searches. :-D For that matter, anybody got any suggestions on how to FM quilt the kaleidoscope blocks? Echo? All-over large stipple? Something else entirely? I'm really stuck on this quilt. Quilter's block, or something. :-/ -- the black rose, wench with a wrench proud to be owned by a yorkie |

Most kaleidoscope blocks are so busy that anything you quilt won't show much. That's actually good news -- you can do anything you want, and it won't matter. I'd suggest going to either extreme -- something you are completely comfortable with, or something you really would like to improve. -- Kathy A. This quilt *is* for a teenaged boy -- so either he isn't going to care one way or the other, or he's going to be picky as heck. I'm not sure which. Hence the quilter's block -- it's probably more akin to stage fright, hehe. -- the black rose, wench with a wrench proud to be owned by a yorkie |
