Default Spring Inspirations?

for me Spring is yellow, white and green - clear bright greens and lime
swathes of daffodils yellow and white

later on follow the reds, oranges, whites and yellows as spring heads
towards summer and the fields of tulips burst into flower and create art in
the fields

one could add pink and purple into the second part of spring but I prefer to
neglect these colours in quilts I make for "me"

Hi everyone:
With the weather beginning to warm up here in New Hampshire and
anticipating the gorgeous spring colors to follow, I am itching to
create a new wall quilt featuring spring colors. Yellow, purple and
green are on the top of my list, but I am also wondering what color
combinations make others think of spring.
So, what does spring look like to you?
All the best,
Carol

The honey wagons in my neck of the woods certainly have odor. We refer to

Ah yes...we always called it derriere, oops, I meant dairy air.... :P

(but it sure grows nice flowers!)

What is your definition for a honey wagon?

I thought farmers got out into their fields with the fertilizer (honey
wagons- manure carts, etc), early in the spring. They plow it in and
plant. To me, that's a sign of spring.

Honey wagons! What a great term. I always called it "New York Pot pourri".
Yes, you always know when spring is here. Now if you live in the city like
I did, well when you smell dog doodoo, it's a sign that spring has arrived.
Funny, no matter where you live, country or city, the sign is there!

The dairy I used to live next to kept sh** pits. Big piles of manure
that really, no one wanted to be downwind of. This was sold as dairy
compost, I guess, and certainly wasn't odor free.

I guess whomever you get it from does a better job of making proper
compost out of it.

Never! One is NEVER too old for swift retorts and fun!

For me THE sign of spring is the swathes of white and purple crocuses
planted up by my FIL's: the local council has planted acres of them up
the middle of the dual carriage way, in ten foot wide waves! They
looked magnificent at the weekend. Very few daffodils out yet, but the
crocuses have lasted all month!
