Sandy,
What's this Quilter's Shirt? I remember you wearing a shirt decorated with some vintage textiles. Are you doing another of those? Will I see this in Houston this year? Details, woman, details!! Howdy!
I took a big white shirt, lightweight cheapy, and sewed scraps to it, overlaid and appliquéd; added some yo-yos and buttons to it, and have worn it for the past 8 yrs. to all kinds of quilt shows and meet-ups. It's one of 2 that I took to Houston; you saw the one w/ the doilies and leftover blocks and all those buttons, I think. This Quilter's Shirt, having a double layer of fabric, is rather warm; the sleeves are still uncovered white, making the shirt look like a vest. It's cheap, it's economical, it blends into quilting crowds. g It's getting a bit frayed, altho' it's not hard to patch the patches. g So I've started another one. Can't go wrong, 'cause it's just made up. Cheap works for me! Thanks for asking. Ragmop/Sandy--I could put a picture on the yahoo site...some day... I'm working on 13 red satin nightcaps edged in sequins, 13 purple pillowcases
with red borders, 13 purple nightshirts with red sequins and an outfit for Sister Betty who doesn't have any flashy/trashy clothes in her nun's wardrobe. Then I'm going to do a couple of crazy quilt pillows with some of the squishies I've received, finish my son's black and white quilt for Christmas and pick a pattern for the back of the new sleeper sofa in my sewing room. I'm sure there's something else but I have no idea what it is at the moment. Morag in Detroit |

Are you planning a Red Hat Pajama Party? Am I invited? I've got
my own red sequin cap and a purple nightshirt that reads "Outrageous Older Woman!" Yes, a vision of loveliness. I am thinking of making up a few tote bags with 'screening' along with some of the Red Hat fabric. Need to do this soon .... two gifts are overdue and one is due next week. Have any of you worked with (sewn) the screening? Any suggestions as to thread, needle, stitching? Hullo Roberta
If you are going to do another 'mosaic' floor, can I suggest that you do a quick (or not!) Google with 'Cosmati' as the keyword. You may, of course, have a pattern already in mind/photgraphed; but you might enjoy a ramble down this particular lane. I don't know what you'll find, as mine were photographs in a specific book; but I'm sure there will be something interesting for you. .. In article , Roberta Zollner writes Apart from the perennial take-along hand project (currently 2½" bowties) and the evening-with-DH hand quilting, I am (gasp!) between quilts! Just finished 2 smallish ones made of some orphan blocks. Guess it's time to start drafting another mosaic floor. A dear kind friend came over last week and brought me my order of marbles, so there's floor-type fabric! Roberta in D -- Best Regards pat on the hill |

My 2 WIPS are both patterns from Linda Ballard. The first is a class I
took from her several months ago called Take 5. The second is from a retreat my mini-group went on in July. That one is called Earth, Wind, and Fire. I also am doing a block of the month at my LQS. I need to sew down the binding on two quilts. Since the first one is not due till November I'm waiting till it cools off a bit. Plus I am doing a cross stitch project for as a shop model. I have other UFO's but they are going to wait till I'm ready to do them. They are on the someday list. Tamara Diana Curtis wrote: Well? ;-) What sort of things does everyone have going at the moment in the quilt family? Dragging out PIGS or finishing up UFOs and WIPS or have new quilts started appearing? I'm still working on the queen size LC borders, getting ready to MQ the siggy quilt, plotting the next borders on DDs quilt, and playing with layouts for Mike's 'Things go better with Coke" quilt. Sometime in the middle of those I need to design and make two quilted Christmas stockings. Lets hear your list!
