I pay to learn how to quilt better. To get quilting advice. To get
inspiration and techinical advice about quilting. I also pay for the
friendship and fun chat.
So, what does everyone else come here for?
Diana

(other stuff snipped to save time)

I come here to find new ideas, products, links, techniques, cyber
friends of like quilt-minds (you know what I mean). I even read some
OT posts when I'm bored. You can pretty much figure out what is a
waste of time and skip it. I'm not comfortable upbraiding people who
might stray from the intent of the group, it's easier to just ignore
it. Hey, maybe they honestly didn't know, and in that case don't
deserve being flamed.

Just my 2cents.
Happy quilting

WOW. Guess there are quilt police after all. Apparently you think you
speak for all of us. As for the advertising--occasionally someone steps up
and does it. You obviously have made no mistakes!

Oh come now. She didn't say that. At least be honest with yourself and
realize that you're reading far more into her post than she actually said.

I agree wholeheartedly about the OT concept. My pet peeve is when
people reply to an OT post and somehow remove the OT from it. Now it
is no longer an OT post. So, remember, when replying to an OT post,
don't remove the OT from the subject line.

That happens automatically. The machine does it. The trick seems to be
not to use colons but to use dashes instead. In other words, label the
off topic posts as "OT-" not "OT:" (Hey, I didn't invent that system.)

Exactly. Which is why I label my off topic posts "OT -- insert subject
here." That seems to avoid getting stripped.

Even just OT and a space works it. Just like my changed subject line.
(insert superior look down one's nose at those that don't change the subject
line) LOL.

I have asked here and gotten great answers to such questions as where can I
get the best price for green-band SM needles, and we had a lot of fun with
the best safety pins, also including where and how much. Please don't feel
timid about sharing any great deals you discover, some of us sorely need
them. Polly

Especially on rotary cutter blades. I'd buy them in bulk the way I do
needles if I could save money on them.

But I'm naturally timid and shy and retiring. {{batting fluffy eyelashes at

Jalynne is right, Sharon, that was pretty awful. And yes! Lia, I would love
to know where and best price for rotary blades. Some klutz here surely does
use them up quickly. I don't know who but have noticed that my rulers don't
exactly have square corners anymore. A screw loose at the controls strikes
again, and again. Polly
