Re hats:- Sorry for the misunderstanding of previous letter. I'm looking for
patterns to make hats for ladies to were to church.

Hmm...that's not the sort of needlework that is
typically discussed in this newsgroup, so you might not find
many people with that sort of information here (though
there are some sewers). You might have better luck on
a sewing newsgroup (or maybe a millinery newsgroup,
if there is one).

Using millinery as a search term I found some very good sites. Many of
the sites have extensive links lists. Two of the best I found were at

http://www.hatshatshats.com.htm

You might also look into the ribbon flower and embroidery literature.
Much amateur millinery seems to involve ribbon manipulation, and there
are several books on the subject elsewhere. Carol Kling designed a
beribboned hat as a project for Piecework July/August 1997, if you can
get your hands on it.
