Inspirations #40 - a review
Well this is lovely........there are so many delightful and inspirational
projects I am sure every one will love it. There is a lovely masculine throw with a needlepainted Canadian Red Fox - though foxes are a terrible plague to Australian wildlife (they have no predators here and have wrought devastation on our native fauna) this blanket shows the lush majesty of the fox. For those who love a handcrafted tote the "All Roses" handbag is a delight with lots of bullion roses arranged in a luscious design. Crewel - I love crewel - and there are 2 crewel projects. The first is a charming crewel cushion called autumn gold, and there is the sweetest little sewing purse with a design named Summer Garden. For the little girl cherub in your life there is the Peace Angel Hearts and Angels dress - this is so sweet and the little model is just the most Angelic little one. The Egyptian Beetle - well superlatives need to come out here. It is described as "stunning three dimensional masterpiece" but that is barely an adequate description. This design uses a number of textured and raised embroidery techniques as well as an exciting selection of threads, beads and goldwork materials to create extraordinary Egyptian icons. For raised embroidery enthusiasts there is a design called Tranquillity which is a perfectly formed Dahlia and softly shaded anemones in this exquisite stumpwork picture. There are two "bunny" projects in this issue - one is designed for young stitchers to create a blanket for their teddy, and the other is a wonderfully simple, but so very effective capsule blanket called Purity. Purity is amazingly simple, yet incredibly effective in its design. And finally a note for Dianne, they must have been prescient to your wavering as there is a tiny taster of issue 41 - it is a luscious looking Prize-winning Casalguidi Bag! 3 months to the next issue always seem so long.............. -- ..·´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ Joanne -:¦:- - -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´ in a cool Spring Perth, WA -:¦:- |

I can't wait for my issue. When I saw that Egyptian design I started
to drool. I don't care what stitches I have to learn I'm doing that design. I won't get my issue for a couple more weeks though Chris K. Dianne Lewandowski wrote in message ... Oh "damn".
