I'm in too, with my buddy Linda....I gotta keep up with her!!!
Thanks Melissa! Teri -- Teri http://gallery.ppwp.com/gallery/Tquilts "nana2b" wrote in message news:SL6Md.962$wc.955@trnddc07... Hi Melissa, Ok I will play too. I seems that this year I will have at least 4 BOM quilts going. For me it is a good way for me to "keep" on a quilting mission and not get bored. Thanks for the info on this. Can't wait to start. Alice:
You could select a focal fabric first and reserve it for sashing or corner squares. Then, assemble a box of 'interesting' odd bits of fabric scraps that blend together nicely. Then just reach into that box every month to make the current block. I am doing something similar. Every month my small group has a lottery BOM in designated colors. I make and return those. This year I added a personal twist. First I will test each pattern with other fabric and I will keep that block. I *may* also add a few blocks from the RCTQ project to my collection. My box of scraps is all in Christmas fabric! By November I will have a Christmas theme sampler. Sounds like fun, eh? PAT in VA/USA AliceW wrote: Ok, I love the block, but now I have to decide on colors! Do I do all the blocks in the same colors or do I get wild and crazy? Hmmmmm, I think I'll have a glass of wine and mull over this big decision. Shopping.....I may need to go shopping for fabric..........it's sounding better and better all the time! Thanks, Melissa, you're the shot in the arm I've been waiting for! |

I can't tell from all of this whether we are supposed to officially sign up. Melissa, if you're keeping track: count me in! Not sure either if there is an 'official' sign-up. I will be participating! I'm hoping some of us can post some pics as we move thru the blocks. Too hard to wait a whole year to see results! Pam |

No official sign-up. You just participate as you can.
As for pics, what I can do is each month when I am announcing the new blocks I can call for pics of the previous month's and I'll post them. Melissa |

Ooh.. love your choice of fabrics! Will you continue this color theme thru
the rest of the project? What a stunning quilt you will end up with..fabulous! I dont have the same type of husband. Mine has been around me for a few years and knows the answers to all those questions... which is good. It saves time. Diana -- Weird people need beads, too "Tina" wrote in message ups.com... Boy am I in trouble now.... DH: "What are you doing with those bins again?" me: Looking for something. DH: But you already have fabric out. me: I know, just looking through. DH: You just did laundry yesterday, what are you doing now? me: just the misc. that didn't get picked up yesterday. (have to find something to throw in with these quarters so it doesn't look like I am just washing fabric.....) DH: WHAT are you doing now? I thought you were going to go back to bed, you're sick, you need to get some rest before kids come home from school? me: I am resting. This is not strenuous and it is very relaxing to just sit and sew. I'll be fine. DH: What IS that?! You're making another block! This is different. This isn't what you were working on already! Is it? me: no. At the speed of light and explanation bursts forth about the group online I told him about - you know? and they're going to do a BOM and I want something to do just for fun, for me and I have these black print quarters that I was going to use for your quilt but you didn't want prints, you just wanted solid black and tan and you are always saying I don't ever do anything that's just for me, so...... GOT HIM! (I'm sure everyone here has heard this conversation before....?) So here it is......... http://community.webshots.com/user/tmsewing RCTQ-BOM Tina |

I am going to make mine completely scrappy since all my quilting friends yell at me for giving my scraps away. Don't Yell at me here just yet I do wait till the scraps get so plentiful that they are falling out of their box before I give them away. Lenora in Illinois |

Thank you for the kudos. And yes, I will continue this color scheme.
It finally quit raining and drizzling here and the sun came out today, so I made a 1. bank 2. Hobby Lobby 3. JoAnn's run around the neighborhood! Found two more FQ bundles with blacks/tans/reds to add to my RCTQ-BOM box and some greens/golds for my MIL quilt. Bought some more bobbins (tired of having to swap so often) and some embroidery floss for the butterfly applique and dug through everyones Remnant bins and found some great pieces. Now I can't wait to send a "squishie" to some wonderful cat lover! Found some really cute "cat" material. I always pick these remnants up because my mother is also a cat lover. I also ran across two really good remnants of NASCAR if anyone is needing. I didn't pick them up but I seem to remember some post mentioning a NASCAR lover so I'd be happy to go back for them if they are wanted/needed. As usual, the main thing I went hunting for - I didn't get/find. No solid black qulters flannel! Karma is just going to keep me from starting on that Black/Tan quilt for DH ! Tina |
