That is a nice room. I really like the color and the white laminate
makes for a clean look. That would be a really pleasant space. Taria Pat in Virginia wrote: Very nice place, Valerie. It is a calm and tidy room. I like your cutting table. Could you give some info about that, please? Brand and/or store? Thanks, PAT Valerie in FL wrote: Looks pricy-I'd have to pay more than $200 to supply my stash. And it would take up more room, besides. I like how I've arranged my stash. I've got pics on my Webshots. The only thing I changed recently was adding room-darkening roller shades to the front of the stash shelving to prevent my fabric from fading. Oh, and more fabric (but that goes without saying). Yeah ... that was on fantastic quilting studio. Even
the collection of jars was beautiful. However, I too wondered about the fact there was no other evidence of quilting. PAT in VA/USA Val wrote: I looked at the website where those "fabric board" things were sold. Looks like a lot of buck and no bang......and wasted space as everyone else has pointed out. Did anyone see "The Living with Ed" show on HGTV, Monday night, where he toured the Ultimate Green Home? That woman's quilting room was to die for. All her fabric was stored in clear plastic drawers, folded and sorted to look like rainbow gradations, solid from floor to ceiling, wall to wall. The wall was angled so it got no direct light but her sewing/work table faced a floor to ceiling window looking out on the court yard and pool. I wish there was a picture of that somewhere to see it again. Talk about organized stash!! She had a few dozen jars all with sorted buttons, shelves of thread in rainbow array, every tool and gadget hung or displayed in a beautifully artistic way. The room it's self was a piece of art. The only thing I wondered about; No where in that room was a WIP or a quilt or in the entire tour of the house did you see a quilt or any type of quilting anything; not a lap quilt, bed quilt, table runner, pillow, wall hanging, not even a pot holder......nuthin, no quilting did I see anywhere. Maybe she was afraid to muss up the "professionally designed by the architect", quilt studio. Val |

I see that Pat has adopted my new mantra: "Must use the fabric I already
own." I seem to have also been bitten by the "need chocolate" bug. ( N.B. I prefer my chocolate with a coffee chaser ). - dlm. in central MA 'hand quilter; chocolate and coffee taster, extraordinaire' "Pat in Virginia" wrote in message ... Actually, my stash is a little out of control right now. I need to USE more fabric, not acquire more! I do need the chocolate without the fabric ... I really have to reorganize the sewing room and I need the chocolate for energy! Send the fabric to someone with a small stash. Grins, PAT Taria wrote: |

You could always do what Linda Franz does..... sweeten coffee with
chocolate milk. BG I will stick with chocolate, since coffee and I don't get along at all well. I got my cutting table from Joann's. I don't know if they still carry it or
not. Valerie in FL "Pat in Virginia" wrote in message ... Very nice place, Valerie. It is a calm and tidy room. I like your cutting table. Could you give some info about that, please? Thanks. I like that your cutting table has the storage
area. I want to change out some of my stuff. When I go to Joanne's next week, I will check it out. PAT Valerie in FL wrote: I got my cutting table from Joann's. I don't know if they still carry it or not. Valerie in FL Valerie in FL http://community.webshots.com/user/vjkahler |

Rusty, love your corkboard idea! maybe I will do that in some of the
walls of my quilting room after the expansion I have planned. BTW, why do you keep your rulers on the floor??? wrote: On Sep 4, 6:58?pm, "Boca Jan" wrote: Has anyone bought these and uses them? -- Boca Jan Florida - Land of the Hurricanes boca_jan1atyahoodotcomhttp://community.webshots.com/user/BocaJan I couldn't afford enough of the organizers to make a dent in my stash-- but I folded fabric around an 8-1/2x14" Fons and Porter ruler, pulled the ruler out and stacked the fabric flat on shelves. I got the book "Creating your Perfect Quilting Space, Sewing-room makeovers for any space and any budget" by Lois L Hallock, for my birthday from my buddies in the KKQs. The smallest makeover would do me, however, there was one where a husband and wife couple both quilted and had turned their double garage into a quilt studio to die for. I started looking at our living room and DH started to get worried.)) Elly |
