Default DIY RCTQ Block of the Month Club

Hi All:

Ok, I'm ready to put up a web page to chronicle a DIY RCTQ Block of
the Month Club. I will post pictures monthly if people submit them.
We can then follow each other's progress through the year. So, if you
are interested, let me know. I think it might be nice if we all pick
a theme. Mine is going to be batiks. I am going to chose a different
12" block each month and do it in batiks. At the end of the year, it
will be sashed with a dark colored batik, or perhaps I will attempt an
attic window sashing motif.

So, if you are interested, let me know. If I get at least 5 people
who want to do this, I'll put up the web page.

I'd like to challenge myself to follow suit. I've been having trouble
keeping to my sewing, so maybe committing myself (although I ought to be
committed!) might just help me to keep on track.

I'd like to do it, but I think I would like to do a block every two months
(but I will likely make multiples of each block).

I'll join....using up my scrappy stash will be my goal, and I'll use blocks
that I see as ones that I would never try otherwise.

Question...can I submit the block that I make using eq5, then the real one
that I make with fabric?

Curious minds want to know...

You can count me in. I rootled thru the stash... um scrap box.. and found
all my Christmassy colors. Out of those I will make a block or more a month,
pieced, appliqued or both. At the end of the year Would you like pictures
of the stash?
And.. this is how I will determine my block du jour. I will pick out 6
blocks I really like from my library of blocks and print them up as small
images so I can fit all on one page of paper, cut them apart and fold them,
toss them around and select one to do. I liked that idea.

Count me in! This is a great way to keep me working toward actually
finishing something some day.

Count me in Mardi. This sounds like fun. I think I'll do a different
block each mo. from Judy Martin's "Ultimate Book of Quilt Block
Patterns". It's one of the books my sister gave me. And, it will
more than likely be scrappy.

Mardi,

Count me in! I'm going to use squishies I received to make myself a
scrappy squishy sampler quilt of 12" blocks. Something I always
wanted to make.

Count me in! (But I might miss the first month due to travel and the
need to design the project.

I have a project in mind and this will be a great way to make sure it
gets done!

I am in the middle of two projects for other people, and have two
small projects for ithers on the waitlist. I want to do a project
for me!

I have been thinking that as a new quilter I am about ready to start a
sampler. There is a class in Alameda that creates a real pretty
sampler. I would like to make mine, based on those ideas, and adding
five more blocks to make it a queen for my bed. We just got married
and got new linnens! Originally I thought I would make the quilt in
rainbows like the class demo but I changed my mind and decided I
wanted to do it in Jewel tones to match our bed! I'm not 100% ready
to start or pick fabrics yet, but I'll make two blocks in Feb., and
Aug, in order to have the 13 blocks needed.

Thanks so much for starting this!!!
