Default RCTQ Quilting Week - What are you working on?

Wendy: I've mostly been doing the latter. I also read a few
magazines, and played with fabric. My sewing room was a total
mess. It was still messy after the Retreat in November, when I
had to go fast forward for Christmas preparations, then surgery
in early December, then recovery, holidays, etc. So, Quilting
Week was the incentive to put things in order again. Not totally
neat, by any means, but now I can SEW and CUT and EAT CHOCOLATE
in there!! I am now moving ahead with UFO and blocks.

Finished the baby quilt for the newest Neice. It's fugly, but it'll do.

Need to bind the quilted vest for Jazz to play darts in.

Then I can start on the wedding wallhanging, with the two dragons
getting married.

Default RCTQ Quilting Week - What are you working on?

I put the center blocks together for my latest quilt. I have one of the
pieced borders finished, and one more to go. I've been testing the steps of
the mystery quilt I'll be leading my quilting group through in the next
month or so. I've also been trying to plan a quilt for my DS2's roommate.
She has been asked as a guest artist and speaker at a convention in May, and
wants me to make a quilt with some of her art images to be auctioned for the
Children's Help Line, her favourite charity. She doesn't sew or quilt, and
so we are having an interesting time with the planning. I've sent her some
ideas I worked up on EQ, and she is trying to get some images together for
me to play with. It will be quite a challenge, but I love those....

Join the BOM, make a different block each month, then there is a month
for assembly and a month for the quilty type portion and then you have
a quilt for YOU that you didn't even realize you were making because
you only did one block at a time!

Dannielle - BTW - the BOM is starting up again in April!

Well, I got a new book, 40 Fabulous Quick-Cut Quilts by Evelyn Sloppy,
and I have read it about 20 times already (I think it just arrived on
Thursday). And I also did up 3 blocks for a contribution to a charity
quilt. Other than that, I haven't done much quilty, other than drool
over all of the fabrics that I can't buy any time soon!

Dannielle - who's really looking forward to a tax return!

I worked on my Poiple LC for ME! Then I got down in bed sick (no, not the
flu) and am still too tired to even think about sewing. Today I did walk
outside whilst Mr Joe picked the peas for us. Guess what we are having for
dinner ; ) They are the sweetest peas I have had in a long long time.
Almost like eating dessert : )

San Francisco has the best climate for peas. Here we plant them in February
and by April it is too hot for them.

And, if you dither as much as I do, you can save them up to do when the
time is right. On the 22nd, I finally made three of the BOM blocks I've
been saving. Monday I worked our Federal election - we had to be there
at 6:30 am and didn't finish until after 8:00 pm, so no sewing that day.
Then the carpenter was done with the new hardwood floor in the family
room, so I had to start painting (urged on by DH). Ceilings are no fun
at the best of times, and this was previously unpainted stipple. Yuck.
Final coat on the walls Sunday, and now I'm working on the 'new' room
next to it; there was a hot tub when we bought the house, and we never
used it or the room, so removed the tub and carpet, had the hole filled
in and hardwood floor installed. I'm not good on ladders, so it'll be
nerve-racking. But I did make three blocks for rctq week.
