ULTRAyummy Blondies?! I love blondies but they are usually too gooey or too cakey. Do you share recipes? Do you trade them for fabric? see how easy this is? marcella The recipe isn't really mine to share, it belongs to Ghirardelli. =) Ghirardelli Classic Blondies: 2 bars (8oz) Ghir. white chocolate baking bars (I use 2C white chocolate chips) 1/2 C unsalted butter 2 eggs 1/3 C sugar 1 T vanilla 1 1/4 C flour 3/4 t salt 1 C Ghir. milk chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350. Line 9x9 baking pan with waxed paper, then grease the paper. (I've also used parchment paper with good results) Cut white chocolate and butter into small pieces. In double boiler, melt white chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth, and then set aside. In separate bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Slowly add sugar while mixer is running. Add vanilla. In a thin stream, add white choc/butter mixture. By hand, fold in flour, salt, and chocolate chips. Spoon into prepared pan. Bake 25 mins, until tester inserted in center comes out clean. If you're careful, you can lift the whole thing out of the pan by holding the waxed paper just right. I usually make a double batch, in a 9x13 pan, and the timing then is more like 30-35 minutes. I like how the centers come out... almost like fudge! I don't know what all this "blondies have no chocolate" is about ... even if we get past the whole "is white chocolate really chocolate" bit, every blondie recipe I've heard has chocolate chips. YMMV, of course. Cina |

Can't do milk chocolate, and I haven't seen the extra dark at Nugget yet. But I'll sure look on Thursday when I go to Whole Foods!!! (great, now I'm drooling on the keyboard.) And here I am, answering myself again. I had a minute to kill, so I went to Scharffenberger's web site. Took the virtual tour, and had LOTS more drool on the keyboard. -- Kathy A. Get ready for chocolate overload. http://www.chocosphere.com
I just got in some of the El Rey milk chocolate, some Valrhona darks, and some Guittard white and dark chocolates. Now, if only I could smell and taste properly, I could start candymaking! -- Wendy http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm de-fang email address to reply "Kathy Applebaum" wrote in message om... if you can draw it on the paper you can quilt it? does not work for
me... I guess I have a lot more control of my hand than of the quilt sandwich (that is good, right?) ) Kathy Applebaum wrote: Okay, get out your sketch pad and pencil. (Another free professional tip for you!) Start doodling without lifting your pencil from the paper. If you can draw it on the paper, you can quilt it. Once you get control of your machine and can make the quilting go where you want, paper and pencil is a fabulous way to practice new designs. What you're teaching your brain is where to go next and when to zig and when to zag. I have several sketch books (one for work, one for home, and one needs to go back in my purse) so I can jot down ideas whenever the inspiration strikes. Plus, if you're doodling, and someone asks what you're doing, and you say "I'm practicing my quilting", they pretty much leave you alone, with only the occasional odd glance. (Muttering to yourself will put the icing on the cake.) *grin* -- Dr. Quilter Ambassador of Extraordinary Aliens http://community.webshots.com/user/mvignali (take the dog out before replying) |
