I have two also. A black from 1947, with egyptian scrollwork, and a white,
from 1959 or early 60something...

Love em...pet em...treat em with respect...

Bonnie: Everyone else replied to being FeatherWeight Qwners. I
changed it to Owners. I am an Owner of a FW. Does that count? She
is a real cutie pie.

Hi All,
I was wondering how many Featherweight
owners are there in this group?
I have just made the winning bid on one
on EBay and I'm very eager to get my
hands on the machine!

Add my name to the list of owners. Mine is one of the tan ones made in the
60's. With attachments. I think it's one of the neatest machines ever made.
Simple, easy to use and understand, not expensive to maintain, and very
sturdy. Wouldn't be without it.

Oh LN, you are truly priceless. This made me laugh right out loud - and
everyone else is still asleep!!!! Wonderful comment, LOL.

I have my local guru looking for one. I've told him that cosmetics are
unimportant, as I want to have it re-painted, but mechanical workings must
be very good.

Thank you for the correction. I would never be considered
to be a Featherweight ;-)! Of course, with today being a
legal holiday, I must wait another day to find out what the
shipping will be so that I may send my payment.

My DDs bought me a Featherweight for my 50th birthday, came from Ebay too.
Such a sweet little machine, never gives trouble.

Seems like Qwner = contraction of quilting owner, makes sense to me!

I have 2 - one was my mothers. She gave it to me so I could do mending in
college. DH (then DBF) used it once to try out all the attachments
including the buttonholer and the ruffler. The second one was also my
mothers. Dad purchased it from a dear friend of my mothers to replace the
one they wish they had not given to me. :-) She gave them to me because I
have 2 daughters.
