I better get to work on it then! I see that Google Groups triplicated
my last post, so if it keeps that up, I'll be done in no time :-)

Best,
Christine

Wow, I gotta do that tape-to-DVD thing -- I was just talking about it

Okay, here's me checking in -

I've got a camera; I've got an EZCube. I'm ordering some
stands/display-type stuff to start working on pics. I put up an etsy
site, but I don't like the way the photos came out, so I haven't posted
a link to it yet.

I also need to rebuild my stock; sold all the earrings I made this
summer. I keep losing my creativity in all the clutter on my work table

Apart from beadstuff, I'm almost done with my tape-to-dvd conversion
project - only about 35-40 more movies to go.

Last night I watched "Red Eye" (loved it) and "The Matador" (boring as
heck).

Next!

Cheers,
Carla

She was at the retreat I just attended, as was Wendy Malinow and Carolyn
Potter, the latest two entries at this site. I got to watch Carolyn cover
the goddess form because she was at the next work table over and since I was
Oven Monitor again this year, I baked that AND the faux antler bracelet. So,
its sorta kinda like me posting pics of new work ...."and I he'ped".

I just got back from my annual PC retreat in the mountains. I touched clay
maybe 4 times, slept maybe five hours in 6 days, and took about 350

pictures
for the upcoming book. I've spent the last three days since coming down

off
the mountain sleeping and cropping, living in PhotoShop world, havent even
unpacked yet. Luckily my DH does the laundry or I'd STILL be in dirty
knickers.....
I promise to post some pics VERY soon!!!

I'm getting depressed by how few posts we get on RCB per day. We used
to get ZILLIONS -- a laugh a minute. Fer gawd's sake, lurkers, quit
hiding! And everyone else, invite your friends to come to RCB!

It used to be so ALIVE here. I know some blame me for driving others
away......I BLAME MYSELF! (No, that's a quote from Ghostbusters......)
Anyway, whatever. Let's get this party started, dammit.

" (I thought they were tube worms, someone corrected
me and told me their actual name, crinoids).
I've been gathering as many of them as I can find, and
turning the suitable ones into jewelry..not just strung, but wire
wrapped as well.

Amber - that was me! (collected lots of fossils
with my kids over the years). I remember discussing it
a long time ago. we want to see
the pictures of that fossil jewelry!

I've been lurking more than I've been posting. I've been trying to get
my website up and going, and have really been pushing myself to make
more jewelry. I actually just went to a bead show today and spent $170
on beads..which when you're buying gemstone beads, doesn't actually
give you a lot. I did find one strand I'm really happy with..rough
pyrite nuggets, each one about 10 or 12 mm in size. I've never seen
pyrite drilled into beads like that before. I've seen lots of cut and
polished pyrite rondelles and square cut beads, but not rough nuggets.
They're stunning, and very heavy.

I have been working on a new line I'll be eager to show once I have the
pieces done. Some of you may remember how I posted a couple of years
ago about some fossils that would work well as beads (I thought they
were tube worms, someone corrected me and told me their actual name,
crinoids). I've been gathering as many of them as I can find, and
turning the suitable ones into jewelry..not just strung, but wire
wrapped as well. It's a long process, though, because I actually have
to go out looking in creek beds for the fossils, which are quite small,
and then I have to cull the broken or unsuitable ones out, then clean
the good ones...but yeah. I'm really happy with how this line is
turning out.

-Amber.

she made several of the faux antlers, and even seeing them start out white
and then get stained, it was still very impressive how realistic they look!
