Default Help - need needle plate for Brother VX-2013

Help! I need a replacement needle plate for my Brother VX-2013.
Apparently, at no more than 13 years old, the machine is "obsolete",
which means that my only chance of finding a spare is if a dealer/
repair man has one kicking about somewhere in a forgotten box of bits.
Brother UK are unable/ unwilling to tell me whether a plate from any
other model will fit.

Have you checked with Ron at A1 Sewing here in the states? His part prices
are very reasonable, and it's only a few bucks to send something small over
the pond.
