That's my favorite of your beads.

My fellow artists get a big kick out of watching me paint in orange because it makes me so happy. Starlia Sure! There's just one up here, but you get the general idea; they're transparent bright orange with an opaque core, and I make them in various shapes with varying colors of raised dots. It is hard to prioritize and be selective. But I don't want to give up on staying in contact most of the time. Deirdre Teah, the contact thing is really important to me, too! I feel like I need to keep some kind of handle on the group. Well, I guess if I miss something, no one will be *too* offended! Seems like we all have so much going on. I've been a very active participant in another group for about four years. I had a spell when I couldn't post there, which lasted about six months or so. When I came back and started posting again, it was like I was in another world. Lots of new people there who didn't know me, who thought I was new and wanted to show me the ropes, and a lot of my old friends weren't around anymore. I've learned from this that it always pays to stick a toe in now and then just to say hi, even when you're not feeling much like being involved. Newsgroups are constantly in flux and there's an ongoing evolution to them. It avoids a lot of confusion to stay in touch. Laura |

I love that bead, too.
Speaking of orange and green, I've noticed lots of orange and green around recently-- not just in jewelry, but generally in design. There appears to be a real retro seventies thing going on, at least here in Philadelphia. Is this going on elsewhere, too, or is the retro thing just really big where I am? Philadelphia. Is this going on elsewhere, too, or is the retro thing just really big where I am? I think it's everywhere, judging from the Target commercials I've been seeing. No offense to those who like it, but I thought harvest gold, autumn orange and avocado were awful the first time around and should have stayed gone. G Some variations on it are nice, but I grew up in a gold and avocado kitchen and, well, it wasn't very nice. OTOH, I'm getting a giggle about lava lamps coming back. -- KarenK Desert Dreamer Designs http://members.cox.net/desertdreameraz/ Ebay Sto http://www.stores.ebay.com/desertdreamerdesigns JustBeads: http://www.justbeads.com/search/ql.cfm?s=DesertDreamer |

I agree with this. And there are so many people here that I like, and
whose lives and thoughts are interesting to me. Wouldn't be happy with losing that if I let the high volume push me away, so I skim wildly when necessary, and catch up more thoroughly whenever possible. Big nationwide, and also huge in London. (Yecch!)
Retro Sixties-Seventies is hitting bigtime here... shops are springing up, and prices are sky-high. ~~ Sooz ------- "Selective deafness, it's a wonderful thing." ~Kathy N-V ESBC ~ Dr. Sooz's Bead Links http://airandearth.netfirms.com/soozlinkslist.html ~ Bead Notes: Beading information A - Z http://www.lampwork.net/beadnotes.html |
