Default Coils

I am hand rolling tapering coils. They are about 24 inches long and taper
from 2 in to 1/2 in. They are not too bad but it difficult to get an even
taper over the whole length as well as being hard to keep parts of it round
and not oval.

I would appreciate any suggestions

Cheers

I don't know how to address the taper part, but to keep coil round,
roll it between your two hands and put a twist in it while you're
rolling it.

Get a piece of wood the length, or a bit longer than the coils you want
about 10'' wide. Put strong screws into each corner, adjust the screws at
one end 2" long and at the other 1/2' long and roll the coils under this.
This is what Takeshi Yasuda taught/used when he demonstrated here in NZ a
year or two ago.
