I cannot think of another designer who elicits such vocal response, both
for and against. There are stitchers who want to stitch every single
design she does, and who wait anxiously for each new release. Is there
anyone here who feels that way about another designer??

I like the Cattitudes series, but am content at this point to collect
the designs themselves :-). [Reminds me, does anyone know if
Cattitudes 13 is out yet?]

That brings to mind a question I'd been wanting to ask. Though I
haven't yet bought any, I plan on collecting the Cattitudes series.
But no matter where I've looked, I can't find the third one in the
series. None of the stores where I've found the series have that third
booklet. Does anyone know where it might be?

Linda D. had some very interesting things to
say about New Angel:

Now here is a wonderful example of different tastes The
only TW's I have in my stash are her topiaries, the chart was actually
a gift from a friend, and I love those designs. I don't feel TW is
very good at faces, I don't care for fantasy designs, and I also feel
TW overuses blended needles.

Personally, I think TW could use a good deal more color in her colors,
but that's my taste.

If it's in stock at www.hoffmandis.com, kims-stitchingshop.com can get it for
you.

Alternately, there's contact info for Jeanette Crews Designs in the books --
call Jeanette directly and ask to buy #3.

Liz - great summation - You put my feelings into words perfectly! Thanks.

I certainly don't plan on stitching EVERY MLI, nor every design of any other
designer.

I like the new design - most of my stitching goes to my mom so if she
decides she likes the angel, I'll stitch it for her.

Marilyn has stated she knows she can't please everyone - who could? LOL
Impossible Really.

Sorry... but I do have to speak up to disagree with that one. While she
does have some designs that I really like, they're relatively few in
number... not that all the rest are bad, just not to my taste.

Guess what. She knows that... or used to at least. She's even
responded to posts of mine in the past (I think here as well, but it's
been so long now I wouldn't swear to it) in which I've questioned
something, but not praised whatever the rest of the topic was about.

She hasn't even had a problem with folks commenting that they weren't
wild about one of her designs or another on her group... as long as
they're not rude and nasty about it, of course. People have differing
interests and opionions. Heck, if they didn't, she wouldn't have ended
up coming up with several different "lines" of designs.

Yes, I know that some folks here may have differing opinions about her
personally, as well as professionally.

But it's unfair to say that she sees those who don't "drool and go on
about her designs" as anything *like* an enemy.

Caryn -- you just earned thirty virtual lashes with a wet strand of floss!!

loss!!
Will you please add the attribution info when you quote someone? Some of
these threads get so long and involved that I have NO clue who's "discussing"
with whom if you don't include the attribution info. Thank you dahlink :-).

There is a huge difference between the photos of a TW and the stitched TW.

She uses bright colors, but for some reason all the photos look muted.

Celestial Dragon, for instance looks very bland in it's picture, but the
stitched version is very vivid.

Just my observation, having stitched so many!

If by "she" you are referring to MLI, I can say this is a false statement.

When her "Angel of Healing" came out, one person on her group said she didn't
like it and gave several reasons (without being nasty), and MLI laid into her,
was truly nasty in fact. It was my defense of that woman's right to give
constructive criticism that led to my ban from posting to that group, in fact.

sniff....sniff....

Does anybody else smell bait?

Actually, that was pretty carefully crafted not to be bait and not to be
specifically hostile to anyone in particular. But have it your way.
