Default OT- Obeying Doctor's Orders

wild applause

Well said, Kathy!!! I wish I'd had your words of wisdom to plaster in my
office when I worked for the assorted surgeons I've done time with.

Try to obey the home care instructions, as closely as you can.

Kathy, I'm praying that you will not need further surgury. But if you do, can I
come embroider this on your bandages or something???

Yes. Healing is -work-, and it needs patience and the cooperation of
the one who wants to heal.

I'm really sorry you have to deal with this, Kathy, but glad you
figured this out. And Diana, it would be great if you put your body's
well-being ahead of your housework for as long as it takes. Other
people can do the tasks that are ordinarily 'yours' for a while. Maybe
not as well as you could, and maybe not everything you'd wish was done
.... but you'll survive better if you let it go.

I'll bet you've helped out lots of people when they needed it. Time to
let that happen in the other direction.

Because my body would be dedicating energy to healing, not fighting pain.

Heck, let's all volunteer -- a week at a time -- to go do the tasks
that she shouldn't...
