Default LNS in Mesa, AZ?

My SIL called me this week to ask for help doing an XS project that
she and our MIL found in the closet. MIL doesn't see well enough to
show SIL how to do it. Since there was no way I could do it over the
phone - she couldn't figure out, even with the directions, how to get
from the chart to the fabric. I emailed Family Arts in Phoenix to ask
if they have any stamped XS or any kind of stamped embroidery (that's
what she did growing up) and they said that there is a XS shop in
Mesa. I don't want to bug them again but was hoping someone in that
area might know of a place where she could go for help. I already
emailed SIL with the contact info for her local EGA chapter but don't
know if she'll go. I'm pretty sure she'll end up going back to
stamped embroidery but I thought someone at a LNS might be able to get
her started with XS more easily than I could do it over the
phone. :-) Even if she has to buy a small project to start with, I
think she could afford that much. Thanks.

This is what I have gleaned over the years for Arizona

You may want to call and see if they are still in business. Too many
LNS's are going broke, or just online.

Gillian posted about Attic Needlework in Mesa. It *is* a lovely
store but I have never found the people who work there to be very
friendly or helpful. Last time I was there, they were still VERY big
into antique and reproduction samplers. I don't do those sorts of
samplers and got the distinct feeling that if you didn't do that sort of
work, then you weren't as important as someone who did! Of course,
they might be just as nice as can be when dealing with someone who
doesn't have experience or any particular sort of preference! CiaoMeow

Thanks, ladies! I'll send the info to SIL and she can do what she
wants with it. Maybe she can get DH's sister to go with her if she's
too timid to try it on her own.
