2 Moons
27th August 2007, a Monday the Whole World is waiting for.............2 moons on 27th August 2007 Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27, 2007 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again. Butterfly (copied not checked) |

Useful though this was for astronomers the apparent size would be no where near that of the moon, which is an awful lot closer, but no where near the same factor smaller. The date it's next expected to be that close is correct, 28th August 2287. cheers Anne |

Sorry, but it's not true. Red flags for me were the usual "share it with your friends" line, and the phrase "this will cultivate on Aug 27" . Is it growing a garden???? Anyway, when in doubt, check out snopes: http://www.snopes.com/science/mars.asp Ginny in Vermont On Aug 15, 5:00 pm, "Butterflywings" wrote: 27th August 2007, a Monday the Whole World is waiting for.............2 moons on 27th August 2007 Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. I not only forwarded to everybody I knew, because I thought it was cool, but wrote it down on the calendar so I wouldn't forget. Then I found out it was bogus. Sherry |
