I'm back, and I'm pooped! Mostly OT

Christmas has been busy! DH came home from visiting his mother, bringing
her with him for the holidays last Wednesday evening. It took four
hours at the airport to pick them up, as well as his sister and their
luggage. I came home and threw a pizza into the oven for a late dinner.

I've spent most of the intervening five days in the kitchen, either
cooking or cleaning up, though Christmas dinner was at DD#2's house.
Yay! But the DDs came to visit more in the past five days than they
usually do all year, so my kitchen and I have had a closer relationship
than usual.

At any rate, between that and the regular hustle and bustle of having
guests and "doing" holidays, I haven't had a chance to read the NG for
days. I've had to bite the bullet and mark everything read in order to
start fresh. :S I'm doing happy dances for anyone who wants them, and
I'm sending prayers and good thoughts for all who need them. I hope
everyone is having a good holiday season (though I'm ready for some
*quiet*! G).

Oh -- and to keep this from being entirely OT, the DDs gave me a
floor-model Ott lamp for Christmas -- what a difference that will make
when I get some time to do a bit of hand quilting! DH, who has bought
me jewelry exactly twice in our 32 years of marriage, surprised me by
getting me a lovely tanzanite and diamond ring -- he remembered that I'd
admired the color when we saw some in a display last year. Wow!

Now I'm off to clean bathrooms, mop floors and perhaps make it to the
LQS's sale! G
