I have to say, I really love the dolphin lobsters. So pretty.

I work in a big bead shop, and we sell base metal lobster claws in many
sizes, plus 8 different styles of SS lobster (this includes special shapes
like dolphins) ...

Rio Grande (damn them) has some really excellent metalsmithing videos,
including Complete Metalsmith and one I bet you'd love, "Cold Connections
and the Power of Found Objects." The listings are in the back of their Tools
& Equipment catalog.

Found an online source ... seems to be the publisher's own site:

Only one problem -- they're certainly not pretty. I'd love to see these done
in a gorgeous manner (and it could be done).....

EZ Lok's are a nifty clasp. If you have a Rio Grande catalog (2002-2003),
you can see them on page 164, item T & U.

oooh you guys are so good Thank you all for the wonderful information.
I'm on a couple other beading bbs and none are as great as this one!

I am just itching to go get some soft flex and restring all my necklaces! I
have a LBS here that I really don't like, but maybe they have it since I
don't want to wait till this weekend to get to the one I love or order
online.

And I'm dying for my hammer to come in the mail so I can harden my clasps...

And - hahaha, my Metalsmithing book came (thanks Tina for recommending it) -
the one that goes with the video you guys are talking about - and I'm so
excited to see all the things I can do with copper - like turn it green,
red, blue, grey, etc etc!

Ok, must go now and get the kid ready to go to the bead store and look for
softflex.... before hubby gets home and asks how much money I've spent
today. LOL.

I'm going to make a Found Objects thread here, if anyone is interested (do I
see any hands?) -- featuring some links to Found Object Jewelry(ies). I've
posted such stuff here before, but not all in one place.

"Cold Connections
and the Power of Found Objects."

oh goodie, I've been thinking about found objects lately too... not that
I've found any, but what if I did, could I use them in my work. I have some
pretty river rocks that might make nice pendants... I guess they would be
found objects... but also old watch parts, buttons, etc.
