The black needles are tourmaline. Those are tourmalinated quartz. Rutile
is a different material -- titanium. And yup, I my fingers had a brain fart when I was typing "rutilated". But surely you noticed that if you checked the site t see what "reticulated quartz" was. I've decided that I like reticulated quartz -- after all, reticulated means
"resembling or forming a net or network: reticulate veins of a leaf" (www.dictionary.com). And you can keep your reticulated quartz in your reticule.
