Oh, I *love* this! Looks Celtic.
-- Kandice Seeber Air & Earth Designs http://www.lampwork.net I don't know why the mail was delivering packages yesterday, but I got a book I'd ordered a while ago from Amazon on wire weaving. I was dying to try it, so I made a test in copper, and then went for the real thing in silver. I'm not quite happy with it. I may move the wraps, but then again, I may just leave them and work on changing them on the next one. I'd really like to try one in silver and gold now! I do like the bracelet alot! Also, I didn't have the right wire for the hook, so this one is temporary until I get something else. It works, just a little smaller guage than I wanted. http://www.beadbimbo.com/ebay/weave2.jpg Unfortunately, there isn't a lot else in the book that I, personally, can use because it's got PMC and soldering silver, both of which I know nothing about, but I can enjoy the pictures and at least I can do a weave now! Here's the book: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/19...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg -- Jerri www.beadbimbo.com |

They were delivering the mail here, too, but I attributed it to the fact
that they didn't deliver anywhere along the east coast of Florida where the hurricane warnings were in effect on Saturday. Valerie Beadbimbo wrote: I don't know why the mail was delivering packages yesterday |

if you use fine silver, and a kitchen torch, you can whip those headpins out
in seconds. no pickling, nada!!! i make them as I need them, then I don't waste a lot of silver (although it's not really a waste) but if i decide i need 100 17/8 inch pins...whoosh...out they come! I took my first smithing class in the summer between senior year and freshman year.fell in love immediately. It's true vj, when you find the medium...painting, smithing, lampwork, you do come home. "vj" wrote in message ... vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from "Beadbimbo" : ] I want to get the stuff to make headpins. My teacher at Wm. Holland ]showed me how, when I was up there this summer. I'll start with that. I ]need a pickle pot or a small crock pot and the acid, and that's really all I ]need for that. actually, in your case, all you REALLY need is the wire. the acid is nice, but not mandatory if all you want are head pins. ] I'll keep you in mind, if I have any questions. Maybe one year I'll ]take a silver smith class. i finally felt like i'd come 'home'. -- @vicki [SnuggleWench] (Books) http://www.booksnbytes.com newest creations: http://www.vickijean.com/new.html ----------- I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, and to the republic which it established, one nation from many peoples, promising liberty and justice for all. The book made me think of you too.
Tina "vj" wrote in message ... vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from "Beadbimbo" : ]I think YOU would get a lot out of this book with what you're doing! you might be right. right now, i'm always on overload! Oran is packing as much information into my head as he can, and he tries to catch the bits that fall out and stuff them back in. i'm SO loving the casting right now, i can't get it ready fast enough. he keeps saying "don't worry - if we need more, Rio will have it here in two days for me." -- @vicki [SnuggleWench] (Books) http://www.booksnbytes.com newest creations: http://www.vickijean.com/new.html ----------- I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, and to the republic which it established, one nation from many peoples, promising liberty and justice for all.
