Oh Jan, Maybe I can run a contest for the "new Nana" name. Prize being a
FQ. The Kitty QI could be the judges and since they are so impartial to
everything, it would be a fair contest.

If you are worried about the security of the judging, I could have photo
proof of the selection. Sugar is easily bribed, but Fiona is above reproach
and she could have the final answer.

As I found out several months ago, you are what the babies call you! To my
grandson, I am "Nana". With my 8 month old DGD in Florida, it's still TBD.

The SMDGD has a whole slew of "grandparents" so everyone has a
different "name". My Dad & his wife are PopPop & Grandma Bet, which is
what DD calls them & now so does the SMDGD. DD's best friend's folks
are Granny Joyce & GrandDad John. The Sperm Donor (my first spouse,
DD's father) and his wife are Papa Chuck & Gramma'Laine and DD's inlays
are Grandma and Papa (no other names). DH & I are GrandMother &
GrandFather which the SMDGD (at the ripe old age of 3) pronounces
GaMunner & GaFahter. I'm not really sure just *how* she will pronounce
this as she gets older but I'm sure it will be interesting :-).

Alice, It took me a minute to figure out what you meant by "TBD". You must
understand that I have not had a full cup of coffee yet. LOL

Hi Mary, They will call you what they will. Usually it is humourous and
endearing. My son called my folks, MeeMa and Peepa until he grew into
Grandma & Grandpa. Since Norah was born he has called us that a few times.
Ahhh how it brings back memories.

Welllll.. actually I disagree - they will call you want you want them to if
told to. How I know? well my mother has a "death sentence" on anyone that
dares to call her anything else than Tricia or Mrs. Thompson. that goes for
me grand kids and all and sundry.
