Howdy!

Truth: several years ago, in another city, our ph.# was 2-digits reversed
of a furniture refinishing company in the next town.
We got phone calls ALL the time, days, nights, weekends including Sunday,
w/ people giggling, smarmy-sounding men asking for a date,
callers demanding to know "what are your hours" or "what services do you
provide? Do you do parties?"
After a couple of months of this the phone company agreed
to give us a new number.
Name of furniture biz w/ the similar number: Professional Strippers

Ragmop/Sandy --the money I could have made... ;-P

One of my apartments was one digit off for WalMart Service Desk in our

they have a serious beef with Waly World over something. But at least
they don't call at 4 a.m.

He's a keeper... he makes the point that I never made him choose, that I
knew the more love you give, the more you recieve... and to ask him to
leave his child & wife so he could be around people that were that ____ was
really not even a choice, but a freeing/liberating thing. It opened up
more room to spend time with people who wanted and chose joy to be in their
lives. As an adult you can *choose* who you want as family. ;-) Miserable
people hate it when other's are happy.... must destroy lol....

Ok you guys, You win, you win. I have 4 sisters. Just one a problem.
She is a problem to everyone. Since mom passed she has been on the
attack at me though. At least everyone knows what a nut she is.
I stay clear as much as possible but she is really slick at what she
does.

I got in the right line when it came to my parents and most of my
sibs. I count myself lucky for the most part. DH has been telling
me for years she is going to be a mean, lonely old woman. At 53 she
is hardly old but she is getting there : (
I did meet dh because he was a neighbor of hers all those nearly 28
years ago so I guess I should be thankful at least for that.

Linda, we are all really thrilled about Norah and enjoy hearing about
her and seeing pics.

Sandy, you got in the wrong line when they were passing out moms : (

Jan, I think your in laws must just be loony. (they probably know my
sister).

Linda, you have my sympathy. I have a great sister, though we live too
far apart to do much together except video chat G. But our mother is a
different story. She told me at one point that the Bible says to honor
your father and mother but that not a word is said about honoring your
spouse, so I was supposed to ignore him (she'd have preferred me to
divorce him) and jump to her tune. She has also hated my children since
birth -- probably because she was jealous of the time I spent with them
instead of with her. She stole a significant amount of money from me,
and I could go on and on. She puts on a great act with people outside of
the family. We haven't spoken in years. There's a certain sense of
freedom when you cut someone so poisonous out of your life.

but . .but . . - I'm not religious, but I seem to remember something in
the Bible about leaving your parents and 'cleaving unto' your mate

Years back, when our town had 4 digit phone numbers, our number was the
same as the one for a hotel in the next town - and the amount of people
who forgot to dial the correct dialing code first and just dialled 3955
- and couldn't understand why we weren't the Crest Hotel Basildon...

Mum tried renting the spare room out one night... lol

I get these all the time and I *do* interrupt them, even if it means
saying EXCUSE ME!!! very loudly. I just amke it very clear that if they
want me to even consider donating anything to them, they send it out to
me, since, if they have my phone number, they have my address. If they
ask for my address, I tell them to take me off the list

Both y'all are just too polite. I have decided that if they are rude
enough to ignore my first attempt at interruption, I just say "good bye"
and hang up. Life is too short to spend time with rude people --
especially when they call on the phone that *I* am paying for "-)

Thanks Jan. People ofren want to make you feel as though you must have
these people in your life, just because they are related to you.

Yes Sandy, Some folks have suggested she is jealous, but her life is good,
and she has 3 kids that are doing well too. I will never figure her out
and after this I give up. Too much energy required.
