Update-- Boo Hoo Can't Quilt
The update is not good. Got hurt on Wednesday. Had hoped to work on the
Double Irish Chain for my bed all weekend, but not going to happen. Saw Dr. on Thursday. Abrasion on cornea says he, gives me antibiotic eye drops. Friday, eye hurts more, go back to doc, he not happy that he sees no improvement. If no noticable improvement on Saturday, come in at 11:30. My quilting buddy from next door drives me to doc on Saturday. He is somewhat alarmed-- vision in left eye went from 20/50 on Thursday to basically nothing on Saturday. Cornea more than just abraised. If no noticable improvement-- come in. I will be going in at 1:30 today. Looks like I may have to see a cornea specialist on Monday. What a pain. I did not have the kids at all this weekend so I was able to just lay around and do nothing but pamper myself. Now it looks like I will still not be able to drive for a while which isn't too good. I started a new job a few weeks ago. Missed 2 days. Will most likely have Mom drive me to and from work if doc says OK to go in for my 3 hour shift tomorrow. Then another trip to a doc. Daughter goes to school and work, so can't have her shlep me around, son not old enough to drive, husband is non-exisitent as is significant orther. Really hard to see the fabric and not able to work on it. If this does not settle down soon, I will be learning to adapt to one eye and figure out my perception with the one eye so that I can get back to work! Luckily the graduation quilts are done. I still have to get a sleeve on the quilt for the guild quilt show and finish a raffle quilt for June. YIKES!!!! Debbi in SO CA |

If this does not settle down soon, I will be learning to adapt to one eye and figure out my perception with the one eye so that I can get back to work! Luckily the graduation quilts are done. I still have to get a sleeve on the quilt for the guild quilt show and finish a raffle quilt for June. YIKES!!!! If it makes you feel better, I have no depth perception and manage to do fairly well in most situations. I'm sure you'd be able to adapt, if it really does come to that. As for the quilts you need to finish, maybe someone in the guild could help you out? So sorry to hear this, Debbie.
At least you have wasted no time in getting things done. The quicker the better with eye things. Do hope this afternoon's investigation or whatever it turns out to be makes things better for you.
