Quilt Shops Near Kirkland, WA
Hi Folks,
I am a long-time lurker (10 years) and an occasional poster (maybe once a year). I will be heading to the Kirkland/Seattle area at the end of November. Can anyone recommend some nice quilting shops? I am going to search for some online, but since I'll probably only be able to drag the DH to one I'd like some personal recommendations as well. Thanks so much, Sheila |

There are no quilting shops in Kirkland. There is one in Bellevue which
is a ten minute drive from Kirkland. It is called Quiltworks Northwest. This is a link to their website: http://www.quiltworksnw.com/ Esther Shelly wrote: Hi Folks, I am a long-time lurker (10 years) and an occasional poster (maybe once a year). Kirkland has a Hancocks, it's on NE 85th, right at the 405 junction, I've only been there once and have never been to another Hancocks, so can't really comment about it. Pacific Fabric and Crafts is a local mini chain, you can google and get the exact locations, the Bellevue store is my nearest and is bigger than any LQS I've seen, but much smaller than the Issaquah store. Quiltworks Northwest is in downtown Bellevue, I don't go there much, but other in my quilt group love it. You can also look at the Western Washington shop hops site to get a list of a good proportion of local shops. Gathering Fabrics in Woodinville is almost in Kirkland. I personally wouldn't bother with the one in downtown Seattle, unless I was there anyway and had time to kill. The other place of note is Quilting and Sewing Outlet in the Southcenter area, they moved recently, but I was pleased with it on the one trip I did make there. Cheers Anne |

There's also Gathering Fabrics in Woodinville. And the not-quilt-
specific-but-gots-lotsa-goodies Pacific Fabrics (Bellevue, Issaquah) and to a lesser extent Hancock Fabrics (Kirkland) and Ben Franklin (Redmond) |

Try the Western Washington Shop Hop site:
http://thecalicocat.com/wwqshophop/w...iltshophop.htm or for a more direct link to the shops, go he http://thecalicocat.com/wwqshophop/w...ophopshops.htm I think they included most of the shops along the way, but am not sure. Lorraine |

Hi Shelly
There's a "Pacific Fabrics" on 4th Ave in Seattle, very near the ball parks. It has tons and tons of fabrics and the prices are pretty decent. There's also a "Hancocks" in West Seattle, but it's pretty hum-drum. Quilting and Sewing Outlet is a little further South, in the Southcenter area, and there's also an enormous JoAnn's down there. Southcenter (Westfield Mall) is about 20 mins south of Seattle. If you want to venture a little further south, to Des Moines, there's a wonderful little shop called "Carriage Country Quilts" on Marine View Drive, and ...... on the same street, is a lovely little winery called "Corky Cellars" - I recommend them both!
