Had planned on doing the Guest Room in an Oriental Theme..then life changed.
I will still make a quilt from my collection and I have a coupla other ideas that are starting to gel. 1 day closer to Moving In Day...did take the SM table and chair in today but can't set it up until the trim is in. And I did take the 'bins' that were in our closet in. DH is fixing the cutting table--got banged up in the move Tomorrow the Cabinet/shelf maker comes.... Does anyone else have an addiction to Oriental fabric? I can't keep my fingers off it, and I have a bunch. My problem is I can't cut into it. I''d been collecting oriental fat quarters for a while. Like you, I
couldn't bring myself to cut them up! I finally took the plunge and used them to make a modified Dear Jane quilt. I love they way it turned out! It's still on the quilting frame but I am making progress. Pictu http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...58679714YUbJaP |

That is beautiful! I love how you fussy cut patterns and used the prettiest,
shimmery thread. -- Boca Jan Florida - Land of the Hurricanes http://community.webshots.com/user/BocaJan wrote in message oups.com... I''d been collecting oriental fat quarters for a while. Pictu http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...58679714YUbJaP Wow - thatis great - how did you come up with the patterns for the setting squares? They look to be Log Cabin and Courtyard Steps? I'd love to see more (and bigger) pics of this quilt - very yummy! Suzie B -- "From the internet connection under the (undamaged end of the) pier!" I blatantly copied it LOL except i changed my setting squares to blue. You are correct -they are log cabin and courthouse step blocks. I used Electric Quilt to make paper pieced blocks and then used 50 of the Dear Jane blocks from the book. My hand applique skills are pretty poor, so I machine appliqued using a satin stitch and rayon thread. |
