I still check in here a couple of times a week, but I am also on Facebook.
I would never know what was going on with my grandchildren otherwise! ^.....^ (=' * '=) Carole D - Retired and Loving It -(,,)---(,,)- |

I do both. I like Facebook better because pictures can be posted right
along with the message---no need to go to a separate site. Gen *First question: how many of us are only reading RCTQ this way? or who regularly read posts in both ways? OK, there's Susan here, Julia, myself,I'm pretty sure Ginger does also; and I think Polly does both. If we had an idea of how many there were, we would have a better feeling of what size group we were still a part of. |

We don't seem to venture out of Suffolk nowadays - sunny Milton Keynes
seems to be our big adventure of the year, and living at the seaside and in this hot weather we don't seem to do holidays anymore! Haven't been to a quilt show since Chilford was burnt down - going as far as Duxford is like venturing to the moon! Actually, since Mike hit a tree when he went to sleep at the wheel in Scotland 3 years ago I am not a good passenger! I'm supposed to be having a blitz on ufo's this year, though it doesn't seem to be a very successful one. I have finished one having been taken over by some microscopic Blackwork for the WI's entry for the County Show. I did it with a magnifying glass so that uneven stitches wouldn't show - they didn't as I got full marks! Currently I'm quilting the 'Stairway to Heaven' (the one with cats sitting on some steps all in dark blue and black) which as been waiting for about 5 years, playing with The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt using my stash of Liberty prints, and trying to get something finished before I allow myself to play with a Hungry Caterpillar quilt for Grandson Reuben and also a car play mat that I want to make a co-ordinating car carrier/garage for. He needs to be a bit older for it, but I need to start early! Gardening - don't ask - it has really got on top of me the last couple of years, so now I have help and we are slowly dragging it back. Fruit and vegetable growing has been abandoned though - soil too poor, in fact it isn't soil, its sand! Any trips over this way planned for you yet? . In article , says... So do I, but I do do Facebook too. I like the pictures and also the fact that the group is members only. I seldom use my 'ordinary' Facebook account - really just to see what children are up to. I have dabbled in other quilty groups like The Farmer's Wife I've recently joined, but I like ours best! I now only get real friends post on my normal account, having cleared and stopped all the posts from places like The Quilt Show and vaqrious quilt shops (I think I got them because I had pressed the 'like' button sometime)- I can go to their proper websites if I want to without them cluttering up my page! I read daily but post rarely.
I am one that hasn't gone to facebook and don't plan to. Dee in Oz "Pat on the Green" wrote in message . net... That is a very good point, actually. I have hardly done any P&Q at all for three years or so since my separation - there's always 'stuff' (having to do everything myself!). I keep trying to catch up, to get 'everything on the list done so that I can pick my sewing up again'. So, I haven't had anything really to post about. Also, I had a new service provider and computer, which wouldn't accept my old Usenet system. I have more or less sussed out just enough to communicate with e-mails, but newsgroup has been 'iffy'. But, my last post did appear, so perhaps all is well again - just different! I will make an honest effort to post some mo more on topic than this one is g *First question: how many of us are only reading RCTQ this way? or who regularly read posts in both ways? I will post in the coming week about a project I am doing with my local quilting group. As usual, I haven't got time to write any more just now; but I'll make sure I don't leave it too long. Let's all get writing! We're perhaps feeling a bit discouraged. However, we can still have a great timew, even if we are small in number. Pat on the Green . In article , jaccola-AT-chartermi-DOT- says... I'm on facebook, but I much prefer the format of this group. Facebook does not seem like a good replacement. I wish this group were more active. I made one similar to this but instead of snaps I used velcro. On the bag it
was vertical and on the flap it was horizontal. That may be another option to think about. I just used quilting cotton and left over batting so mine was a little too floopy for what I wanted.
