Default looking for a fabric

Looking for a fabric that is hypoallergenic and also has a fairly loose
weave. Was hoping someone in this group could suggest such a fabric.
Thank you,
Jim

By hypoallergenic I assume you mean a natural fiber fabric that has not been
chemically treated? If this is the case I would suggest you take a look at
Dharma Trading. http://www.dharmatrading.com/home.html
They have an 800 customer service number, very nice people, and I'm sure
they would be happy to help you out and answer any questions.

An extreme few people are allergic to cotton. For them, they could wear
nylon or poly and sweat. It is generally not the fabric, but the add-ons of
starch, other sizings, laundry detergents, fragrances, and fabric softeners
that cause the problems. Even rayon is not highly allergenic because the
wood proteins and oils have been removed in the processing. Dyes can cause
allergic reactions so if the person is extremely sensitive I would recommend
unbleached cotton garments. Generally though, if the other allergens in
their lives are controlled, clothing becomes a minor issue.
One further word: if the person is highly allergic, I would recommend
frequent washing of the clothing and drying in a dryer - not on the line.
Line drying is a pollen magnet and does not destroy dust mites.

Been there, done that - am so glad the worst is over (touch wood!)
