OT - computer settings...
Hello,
How do I set my computer so that after it has been idle for 5 minutes, you have to re-enter a password? I can't find where I would change that... -- Jo in Scotland |

I use Windows XP and use a screensaver to come on after a certain amount of
idle time. There is a setting in the screensaver window to have it require a password when you stop the screensaver. Right click on your desktop, select Properties, select the Screensaver tab. Next to the window where you select the number of minutes before your screensaver kicks in, there is a check box for the password. Hope this helps. -- Alice in NJ, Royal Cybrarian http://www.ourcyberfamily.us http://www.ourcyberfamily.us/RCTQ/index.htm (add a recipe) "Time is that quality of nature which keeps events from happening all at once. Lately it doesn't seem to be working." On your desktop right click the mouse, properties. It's under your
screen saver program. Joanna Johanna Gibson wrote: Hello, How do I set my computer so that after it has been idle for 5 minutes, you have to re-enter a password? I can't find where I would change that... -- Jo in Scotland -- Remove Quilt to reply |
