Default AD: Electroforming Workshop - Toledo

Donna and I will be hosting an electroforming workshop at her Toledo
area studio from 10 AM to 4 PM July 16th, 2005.

Students will bring their own beads, vessels or other items to use in
the workshop, which will consist of a thorough discussion of the
process, how it works, how to achieve the particular effects you want,
multiple metals (silver over copper, etc.), masking techniques and
more.

Students will see a demo of the process, including one-on-one time
walking you through the setup of the system.

The best part of all is that tuition includes a complete
electroforming setup with absolutely everything you need to use this
technique in your own studio. Included a

* Digital dual-readout rectifier with automatic controller
* Complete set of leads
* Two copper anodes
* Electroconductive Paint
* Copper wire in appropriate gauges
* 1000ml Pyrex beaker
* Paintbrush

The studio is near Toledo Express Airport and the Ohio Turnpike. We
have made arrangements for a discount at the nearby Holiday Inn
Express. Lunch is included. Times given are a rough estimate. Folks
won't be booted out at 4 PM, so I suspect we'll have quite a bit of
additional fun with demos and more!

Cost of the workshop and electroforming setup is $450. For more
information, please email me at
EMOVETHIS

If there is enough interest from out of town students, a blown vessel
class will be held the following day.

I should add that the signup deadline is June 15th. This will give me
time to purchase the equipment and supplies for everyone's kits.

I've had scads of email from people who would like to purchase the kit
from me. If you're interested in this, let me know. I have to get some
info on shipping the chemicals, but other than that, I think it's a
go! The kit will include everything you need to electroform, plus a
VERY EASY, step-by-step booklet on the process. Price: $300

What a great deal!

I was so pumped up by the other electroforming thread (and your gorgeous
vessel) that I found a good deal on a rectifier yesterday morning, and
couldn't resist. Now I just have to assemble the rest of the crap...
er, I mean equipment. And figure it all out! I want to electroform
around my geode beads.

That will be gorgeous, Kalera! If you ever have any questions, just
ask. If we can't figure it out, we'll bug Kate. She's very nice and
helpful!
