Default What to do with unused stamps?

I can't be the only one with this "problem!" Being a good stamper I
have collected a lot of stamps over the years. I have several that I
no longer use for various reasons--maybe I'm tired of them or I don't
like them or I don't use that particular style any longer. I'd like
to weed them to make room for new ones but other than selling on Ebay
(which I really don't want to do) how can I dispose of them? I feel
guilty throwing them out.

You could donate them to a youth group like Girl Scouts or church young peoples
or you could donate them to the recreation program of a nursing home or
assisted care home in your area.

Or perhaps donate them to a group that puts things up for auction to raise
funds on Ebay!

Our dog rescue holds a fundraising yard sale twice a year and we are always
looking for donated items to sell.

There are lots of groups that will take donations either to use by the group
or to sell for fundraising. Look in the classified section of RSM for
several listings.

I use rubberstamps as part of my fundraising for breast cancer marathon
walks. I used to sell them on EBay but the fees have gone up so much and the
last straw was when they started charging for the free listing program that
I was using. Now they are in a flea market section of my fundraising website
(http://www.erinjoi.com). If anyone is interested in donating rubber stamps,
accessories or other craft items for fundraising, let me know. I send out
tax receipts for anything donated.

If you think that something small cannot make a difference---try sleeping
with a mosquito in the room.

If I told you that I was walking 30 or 39 miles in 2 days to help women with
undetected breast cancer find out early enough to survive, would you support
me? http://www.erinjoi.com

Maybe you could do a trade with someone on the group.

That's a great idea. You never know, your old tastes may be someone else's
new tastes.

Hi - another idea - check out your local
stamp store to see if they would be willing
to host a 'used stamp' sale. ours does once a year wit table costs going
to local
charity - a huge success!!!

I envy you people who have stamp stores who hold "used stamp" sales. If
mine did that, I could get rid of a lot of old stamps that I don't use
that are taking up space. I can't bring myself to throw them out, and
many are unused. Then after I sold them and freed up the space, I'd
turn to the stamp store to buy more new ones. Now I hardly ever buy,
and when I do, I buy very few. With a used stamp sale, everyone wins -
I wish the stamp stores would realize that.
