Default OT-More Prayers needed for DD (long)

I'm once again asking for all of you to keep my Dad in your prayers. As
many of you know, my Father had a heart attack on May 14th. He recovered
nicely from that but 4 weeks ago, 24 hours before they were going to
leave to return to South Carolina, he had what we thought was a stroke,
but after 10 days, the doctors determined that he has Myastenia Gravis
and was in a crisis. He was unable to swallow and had trouble breathing.
Forutanely, they have several good treatments for MG. They started him
on the pills and he improved quickly until last weekend. He became very
weak and started having a few problems with swallowing again, so they
moved him to the ICU, so they can do another treatment called
Plasmapheresis, where they filter antibodies out of his blood. They will
do this everyday for 5 to 7 days. Hopefully, he will notice a huge
chance in his energy level and he may be able to start getting around
again and moved to a Renab center.
Thanks for listening and your prayers!

So sorry to hear this, Jill. Will add my prayers to those already
promised. It must be such a worry for you and all the family.

Keep in mind Jill that the plasmapheresis may not be a one-time
treatment for your Dad - I was reading up on the 'new and improved'
methods of the treatment as compared to the 80's when I used to
prepare the units - very labour intensive then - now it seems much
more patient oriented (that's a good thing!) ... I hope that he will
recoup enough following these sessions to move out of the hospital.
You will probably be amazed at the improvements in him over the course
of the next few weeks following the phereses - length of time between
treatments does vary with each case. jennellh
