OT - Went to the hospital last night / very early this morning!
I had to be taken to the hospital at 1:30 AM with MAJOR pains in my stomach,
and well... I was also sick to my stomach. / The pains actually started shortly after 9PM last night, but I didn't get sick to my stomach until about 10:30 PM.... from there it just got progressively worse until I could no longer take the pain anymore and Matthew called the ambulance to come take me to the hospital just before 1:30 AM. Because of being through this a few times before, I didn't really want to go by ambulance ($45 that we can't afford), and I thought I could just wait it out until it stopped. NOT!! I have had this happen a few times over the past five years... they still don't know what it is for sure. Back when I had the first bout of it, the specialist said I had all the symptoms of a gall bladder attack, but the tests they ran (x-rays, blood workup, and ultra sound showed nothing. The specialist even went so far as to book me into the hospital to have a look down my throat with a tube (*warning* I have a low tolerance to things being put down my throat (it even gags me if I brush my tongue back a little too far).... I really wish they would just knock you out to do it), but said that there was nothing... not even a little gravel. However he said that I *could* have had gravel which dissolved, and that it happens all the time where it keeps recurring until they actually do catch it for sure... THEN they can do something about it. In any case, the emergency doctor *thinks* that it could be one of the medication I take causing problems with my stomach... so he suggested that I stay away from it for a couple of weeks and then instead of taking at least one every day I should take them very infrequently and only when absolutely necessary. It says on the prescription bottle "One tablet, three times daily", but my family doctor told me when he gave it to me to take it when I need it without going over the limit of three per day. Therefore if I only need one, or two on any particular day, I could just do that. *shrug* Guess I'll try this other way for a while and see what happens. Mind you, this is the medication that I didn't have at all for the entire month of October because I couldn't afford it. So if I can go a whole month without taking them, I should be able to not take them for a couple of weeks and then just limit my use of them for when I REALLY need them. I am exhausted (not so much sleepy, but tired)... that is quite a draining and tiring experience. I think I got approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours sleep... maybe less, considering the nurse keep coming in to check your vital signs often. No doubt I will feel it later and likely pass out early tonight. Just wanted to let you know that I may not be online much for a few days so my body can rest up and try to get completely over this. Besides that, my son is back home now and it's his computer... so I tend to use it early in the morning before he wakes up so that he can have it the rest of the day. However... he got rehired at his old job where one of his previous supervisors pulled some strings (the one who had him fired actually quit working there about three weeks after Matthew lost his job) and starts training (yes, training even though he worked for them for 1 1/2 years, but at least it's paid training) on November 28th for four weeks, then he will be back out on the floor. He was also interviewed yesterday for a part-time job in Zellers... so I will be able to be back online during most of the day and into the evening before he comes home and wants on here to chat with his friends. Hi Gemini,
Prayers going up to you. At least Matthew was home with you and you weren't alone with all that pain. He did the right thing in making you go to the hospital even though you didn't want to. We all have to do things that we don't like to. Hugs, Nora |

You certainly know how to have a full night!
Please take care of yourself, Gem, and rest over the weekend. Janise "MRH" mthecarpenterATxcelcoDOTonDOTca wrote in message ...
