You buy a large diameter core drill bit from CRL (www.crlaurence.com ) or
Somaca (www.somaca.com ) and put it in a drill press. You put the bottle in a plastic basin filled with water and drill slowly. The water keeps the glass cool so it doesn't crack. Or you go to a company that makes mirror walls and tables from glass and does drilling every day. If you think that will be too costly, wait till you price the drill bit big enough to make a hole for a clock body. -- Mike Firth Hot Glass Bits Furnace Working Website http://users.ticnet.com/mikefirth/hotbit46.htm Latest notes "Jo helen matheson" wrote in message ... on the side of a wiskey bottle i would like to cut a hole large enought for a clock piece to be put in. can anyone tell me how to do this. any information will be appricated. jo helen |
