You buy a large diameter core drill bit from CRL (www.crlaurence.com ) or
Somaca (www.somaca.com ) and put it in a drill press. You put the bottle in
a plastic basin filled with water and drill slowly. The water keeps the
glass cool so it doesn't crack.
Or you go to a company that makes mirror walls and tables from glass and
does drilling every day. If you think that will be too costly, wait till
you price the drill bit big enough to make a hole for a clock body.
