He is gorgeous Leslie. I'm sure he is jumping for joy that he has a new
forever home!! How could anyone part with him. Lucky you to add him to

Yesterday, I was honored to adopt a sweet, cute, quiet, gentle GIANT of a
dog! Teddy (cuz he looks like a big white Teddy Bear!) is a 2 y.o. Great
Pyrenees crossed with Old English Sheepdog- and just plain BIG. The
Humane Society Shelter had to shave him due to his terrible coat condition
with dirt and mats and even a large 'hot spot' on the side of his neck. I
think his haircut is cute and I will keep him in this 'hairdo'. He is
fitting into our HairyButt Gang just beautifully. Everybody is getting
along and Teddy is easily finding his place in our pack. He has lovely
manners and really shows very little interest in the three other dogs. He
is totally focused on me, but will allow the other dogs to shoulder him
out of the way so they can get their lovies, too.

He spent the four hour drive to come home by sleeping on the front seat of
my truck with his head on my leg while I stroked him and talked to him-
Simon went along to meet Teddy and had to ride home in the backseat.
Simon (Chow/Golden Retriever) is the dominate dog in my pack, so we had to
be sure they would be okay together before I was allowed to adopt Teddy.
I think Teddy and I bonded completely in that short time. He's a good boy
with good manners and a darling personality- playful, alert, friendly,
VERY smart and tolerant of all these changes in his short life. I hope to
have him at my side for a long, long time.

He looks very cute and it is very good of you to rescue him

I do not think it a good idea for him not to have his fur coat.
White dogs and cats can be prone to sunburn.

Here is a web-site that explains it.

He's gorgeous, Leslie. Such gentle eyes.
I'm so glad you were able to get together.

Please let him get a little bit more coat on his body, though? Short,
but not as shaved as this - pretty please ... He'll need sun protection
(cancer as well as sunburn like Shirley said). Also he'll be even more
handsome!

Hope you have many happy years together - he's a sweetie.

Congratulations Leslie - what a cutie! I agree with the others about
a bit more fur maybe? Just a tad longer so there's not too much more
vacuuming. And I definitely agree with Miss Polly about the tail -
you wouldn't want to have to hurt someone.

Howdy!

ooooooh, how gorgeous! As they say in Lady & the Tramp: What! A! Dog!

Good for you on the rescue, Leslie. And good for the rest of your furries
to have a new brother. How cool that he got a total shave & a haircut,
you both get to start fresh. I like the lion poof on the tail,
altho' on a sissy dog like a Fr.poodle it would look silly. g
Perhaps Teddy can be trained.. or talked into cleaning some table tops
or de-fluffing some corners (before it grows out or you trim it).
"My Teddy is the perfect butler; he came w/ his own dust mop!" ;-D

Of course he bonded, dogs know a doggie person when they catch one.
Good luck, congrats, and a virtual biscuit for Teddy.

Cheers!
R/Sandy- Stan got his summer shave last week; he loves it,
the short-short haircut makes him all grinny and bouncy,
like a Springer needs more bounce... ;-P
