My Special Glue Problem-Solved!
Greetings,
I started a new thread because some of you may not go back to the old thread. I used Minwax's Polycrylic and got a perfect transfer. I had done a Rhoplex search and found that when it is used in floor coverings it is made tougher. I learned two important things; 1- Tape your color print down and give it an even coat of PolyC. Let it dry 24 hours. Wet the paper throughly and blot off excess water -Both sides Put your print face down on a fresh coat of PolyC. I rolled it with a wallpaper seam roller to remove air bubbles. Let dry 24 hours and remove the paper. 2- Use COLD WATER to remove the paper. Soak it and use your fingers to remove the paper. When most of the paper is removed, let it begin to dry and it will become hazy in places. The haze will tell you where you have more paper to remove. At this point, use less water and use a barely damp rag to remove the haze. This takes a little more time, but is not hard to do. There is a photo on alt.binaries.pictures.radio under the heading of "Photofinish For Metal Cabinets" if you want to see it. Thanks for the info about Rhoplex and Lasertran, Stewart |
