Wow! What a batch of stunning quilts!
Jane in NE Ohio "WitchyStitcher" wrote in message ... I did this one as a raffle quilt for the Buddy Project - a pet adoption foundation. I wanted to show off the focus fabrics. It seems after looking at others that I might have put my sashings on the wrong side. Does it make a difference? http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...57017138IbQdOv |

ok, ta, Mel.
that link got me into the site. the size/ratio of the mitre'd edges on those windows make them stand out 3D style for me, more so than a window. kind of like chopping the top off a pyramid. interesting. great job on those mitres too. thanks for the peek, jeanne -- Vote B'fly for President '08 san-fran at ihug dot co dot nz nzlstar on yahoo msg'r nzlstar on webshots "melinda" wrote... i finally got to see a couple of the pix. still having issue with the browser, clean up time maybe, lol. clever girl doing the mitre that way. works a treat. very clever indeed. did you strip piece them and cut the tris from that? must add that little tip to my grey matter for when i get round to making an AWQ. ta for the link to the pix. that worked great. well done, Mel. oops, sorry if you dont like mel, just say so and i'll refrain from using it again. cheers, jeanne -- Vote B'fly for President '08 san-fran at ihug dot co dot nz nzlstar on yahoo msg'r nzlstar on webshots "melinda" wrote... Anne:
Attic Windows does not require novelty fabric. I've seen it done with small pieced blocks .... a unique setting for a mini sampler quilt. A friend did one recently with rich, deeply colored batik fabric. AWQ has MANY options! PAT Anne Rogers wrote: Interesting.... I don't think I've seen this design before, it's not really something I can see myself doing, it's just not my style, I don't much go in for novelty fabrics. However, I do love KJs birds, so I will have to file it at the back of my mind, one day maybe I will have a block that calls for it. Anne |

I did quite well for piecing by block! I'm fine with Mel, pretty much anything is fine as long as it's not late for dinner! :-) -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |
