Default OT for Lia and other spellers

This morning's paper has an ad from a law office. "New location, all files
intack". Polly

Oh, that's terrible, and I'm seeing this in soooo many places now.
Misspelled signs are one of my pet peeves. With all the consultants
companies hire, you'd think they'd have someone on payroll who could
spell...LOL.

A few years ago, my computer tech had a new advertising flyer printed up for
his business. The finished product had several spelling errors. He asked
the company if they had spell check. The answer, "Yes, we use it on big
jobs." :-(

The one that I remember is an obituary. I didn't know the man or his family
but his obit sure lingers in my mind. It listed him as a well dweller,
after reading the obit I found out he was a well driller :-0

did you call and tell them? i would have, lol.
bad spelling really annoys me too.
yes, yes, i know i dont use capitals.
has 'intack' got any link to road apples?
(trying to be more polite that i was thinking)
tack as in horses gear.
oh wait maybe thats bulls....what do they leave to step in?
its a worry when law firms dont bother having a real person proof read their
ads. those spell checkers will accept spelling if its a real word whether in
context or not. i just dont trust them myself.

I think that is a huge problem now days too, especially with this new "No
Child Left Behind" law. Teachers are forced to promote students to the next
grade whether they have actually made the grades to earn that promotion.
That give the kids a new manipulation tool because they can blow off school
and pass anyway. I feel sorry for the teachers who are truly dedicated to
teaching and really care about whether the students learn or not. They are
in a tough position.

In this computer age with spell checkers people have a false sense of
security about their spelling and grammar. I have always been very
meticulous about my spelling and it really irritates me to see simple words
misspelled just because people get lazy and think the spell checker will
catch it. I'm not a perfect speller by any means and it irritates me when I
find out that I have misspelled a word. One of my pet peeves though is when
people misuse Then and Than. grrrrr. Ok off my soap box. lol.
