Default ny beauty quilt

Wendy:
Did you see this one?
http://community.webshots.com/photo/...04601878illlRj
Way cool.

Today we are having some of the new flooring installed. The two
upstairs bathrooms now sport new vinyl. The crew is working on
the kitchen tiles now. These are vinyl but are in tile form with
'grouting'
Woo Hoo!

Ha!! I meant that as email to W. I quickly cancelled the message,
but apparently not before you had downloaded it Sandy. LOL!

Well, it was nothing embarrassing, though a tad boring. And the
floor is on topic! The vinyl in the smaller bathroom has a nice
little checkerboard pattern at intersections of the larger grid.
Yes, it would be a nice quilt pattern! It is pale taupe with some
white quilt squares .... er, accent squares.

LOL! I suspected it was a goof, but I did like that quilt. And your
floor does sound on topic. G

Catagories at quilt shows often leave me scratching my head. This quilt
looks to me like a New York Beauty, a traditional pieced block. I would
have thought this quilt would belong in a "Traditional Pieced" catagory, yet
it won second place in "Art Quilts" Go figure. Apparenatly their
definition of Art Quilt, doesn't jibe with mine.

Becky,
Yes. I think lots of times the quilt maker selects her/his
category. Generally, in small shows/fairs, the organizers do NOT
change the category. They might suggest a different category, but
will not force it if the owner disagrees. They just don't want to
make waves.

I love the NY Beauties. That is next up on my To-Do list. It will have to
way a few months til things calm down here. My fear with this quilt is how
to place the colors so you get that wonderful 3D effect.
