Oh, what fun!!!
The quilt on my bed has a story. My DH sings barbershop and every year the wives of one of the choruses makes a raffle quilt. He buys tickets every year - has for years. Last year he went alone, since contest is almost always on Quilt-a-Fair weekend and since I work a booth, I can't go. I got this call at about 9:15pm - he said "I won the quilt!!!!!" He left contest to call me - it was that important to him. It is a king sized quilt (good thing, since we have a king sized bed!), hearts (I love hearts), and is hand quilted. It is beautiful. Looks great on our bed. I had started a quilt for our bed, since our comforter was wearing out, but I wasn't making much progress, so this quilt came along at a perfect time. -- Teresa in Colorado -- "frood" wrote in message . com... Do you have a quilt on your bed? Did you make it? What does it look like? Why did you decide on that? Do you have a quilt on your bed?
Not yet Did you make it? What does it look like? I will---gonna be all kinds of cat-fabrics (prolly have enough to make several quilts, actually---may do 1 with predominantly blue, 1 black) Why did you decide on that? Silly question GG says she who is greeted in the fabric store with "Here comes the cat-lady" 'cause I always wear cat-themed scrub-tops. Will LN really finish her own quilt? dum de DUM dum..... -- Jean S |

The quilt on my bed was the genesis for my beginning to make shirts. I was
in a fabric store with my girlfriend. I"m not sure if she needed something, or I was wanting something, except I wasn't sewing then. Anyway, I found this serene repeating leaf pattern in blue, and thought it might make a nice shirt too. Actually, I think we were there to pick out some fabric so she could make me a quilt. Anyway, got some fabric for the quilt, and some same fabric for the shirt. The quilt is not pieced, but one big expanse with contrasting borders. Actually both sides are "scenic". The other side is an off-white with gray crackle pattern. I had some quilts that my grandmother made when I was a young child. I still have them, but they are coming apart, so I don't keep them on the bed anymore. I think I was three when I learned to knot the thread on a needle by making a little loop around my finger, then rolling the loop off the end of my finger. Then I waited another 45 years to follow up on that. duh-wite |

Do you have a quilt on your bed? Yes Did you make it? Pieced it myself. Quilted and bound by others. What does it look like? Lover's Knot in pink, blues and black Why did you decide on that? Loved the black and pink fabric, tried to coordinate from there. Pattern was for a class. Will LN really finish her own quilt? Which Bed?
DD-- has my first quilt. Split Rail Fence in celestrial fabrics blue and gold DS= split rail quilt in Mighty Duck's colors Guest room- Has my Sunbonnet Sue quilt. Not big enough for the bed. I mismeasured. Would fit a full size bed rather nicely, too small for the queen bed. When I finish my white whole cloth quilt in Feb/Mar it will replace the Sunbonnet Sue. Sunbonnet will then become a wallhanging in the guest room My bed- I have a comforter on the bed that I bought before I learned to quilt. I am making a double Irish Chain in Burgundy, Mauves, and greens. I should have the top finished in the next 2 weeks or so if the heat will go away. I am not sure if I am going to quilt it or or splurge some non-existent money and have it quilted. Debbi in SO CA "frood" wrote in message . com... Do you have a quilt on your bed? Did you make it?
