Rescheduled overnight? Speedy Delivery OT little do theyknow
Marissa:
Actually, UPS deliveries are not technically Mail service. Mail Service is the USPS (United States Parcel Service.) I don't know if there is a protection when unsolicited items are sent other than USPS. Interesting idea! This package Linda received wouldn't be unsolicited mail in any case. That would be more on the order of 'KeepOn Quilting Inc.' sending you an unsolicited "Sample of FQ" and then asking for payment. In Linda's situation, she received someone else's parcel, not an unsolicited item for her household. Just my 2 cents worth ... I have no legal expertise, nor Mail expertise. I would NEVER provide more than the address, if I were in Linda's shoes!! Sheesh, that UPS staff was out of line, IMO. PAT PS To Linda: You go girl!! DrQuilter wrote: i thought you were not responsible (or had to return, legally speaking) unsolicited mail. this would fall into that category. do you guys know if this is true? BTW, I never had anyone ask for my ss# for a package! WitchyStitcher wrote: My UPS Story: I in the next town there is a street with the same name. UPS left a package that was overnight-priority at my house but was meant for the same address in the next town. I called them and told them I would leave it where THEY dropped it to be picked up. They asked for my name, address, phone number AND social security number. I gave them my address - which was all they really needed. Well, they refused to pick it up. I asked for a supervisor and he said they couldn't pick it up without that information. I said, "Find, then don't" HE then told me that if I didn't return it to them, I could be accused of a crime! I basically told him what I thought of that and since I'm a nice person, I delivered the package to the intended recipient myself. Linda PATCHogue, NY |

Sure, I know UPS is not the USPS but I was wondering if that rule I
heard about is true and if it would apply in this case. I also know it was someone else's package, but I cannot believe she could get in real trouble for not doing what they asked if it wasn't really supposed to be delivered to her in the first place! Just pondering possibilities anyway... ) Pat in Virginia wrote: Marissa: Actually, UPS (United PARCEL Service) deliveries are not technically Mail service.
