Default I Love Applique!!

Hi All:

I completed two blocks for my "Moon over the Cascades" quilt and I
hand appliqued them. In the process I discovered that I love to
applique. The only problem I had was constantly pricking the index
finger on my left hand, but I solved that by purchasing some of the
little plastic thingies you put on your finger to protect it. They
work great.

I used Roxanne's fabric glue to adhere the parts to the background
rather than using pins. I found that the pins kept snagging the
thread. This worked well also,

Anyway, if you would like to see my first venture into applique, here
is the pictu

Beautiful job Mardi! I love hand applique, but don't really like to hand
quilt. Applique is so relaxing and I use the glue too.

You're doing great!! I like to hand applique, but i've been known to do it on
machine, too. I can't wait to see this quilt of yours finished. Then you can send
it to me for my QI to inspect it.

They are 12 1/2 X 14 1/2. I'm really having fun with this project. I
never realized that applique was so easy. I know that I will be doing
applique projects a lot in the future. The neat thing about it is
that I can applique while watching a movie. I am kind of sorry that I
can't applieque while reading a book, though. I can read a book and
watch a movie at the same time, though.

That's why they have books on tape. So you can listen to a book while
you applique.

I love the glue too, though pins have their place. When I do
multi-piece blocks a pin can hold say a leaf out of the way while I
applique down the stem.

Pin from the back and your thread won't catch :-)

Glad you're having so much fun with this project; it's a beautiful
quilt!
