Thanks Sandy and Larisa! I'll check the library to see if they have
this book, and if not, I'll hunt it down! My DD is showing signs of
being ready, but not quite there yet. At least I'll have this info
under my belt and can give it a try at different points until she is
ready! I'd love to see her in nursery school this fall!

One other nice thing about this book is that it contains a readiness
test. Very helpful!

You mean babies can be Planned? LOL When I was young (I'm now 57) and
all my friends were newly married and having babies, there didn't seem to be
any actual "planned" ones! But they were all loved and welcomed. I
remember my Gramma telling me, "Once you have that baby, you'll wonder what
you ever did before you had him." How true!

Congratulations to all you Mommas To Be!!

Oh yes! My first was very well planned! I quit smoking a little over
a year before she was conceived, we made sure we knew what we were
getting into and what we really wanted, I even started taking my
pre-natal vitamins several months before conception! No, not everyone
plans, but we were starting out a little late and wanted it to be a
great experience....and it has been! We discussed the option of having
a second one and hadn't decided if we would or not, but had decided it
wouldn't be any time soon. I got rid of all of my daughter's baby
stuff in October before I moved to MD, and then found myself pregnant
just a few months later....

Guess we really aren't so in control now are we? I do plan on enjoying
this baby just as much as the "perfectly" planned baby. And I will
welcome him/her and love him/her just as much. I'm just going to be in
shock for a few months!

Thanks Rene!

Well there you go, just as soon as you give away the baby things you
are bound to turn up pregnant again.

I have a little box full of baby things just to stay safe.

I just got rid of all my grandson's things - he and my DD lived with us for
18 months. That doesn't mean I'll have another grandchild, does it?????

Hmmmm.....

Probably not a grandchild, but if I were you I would stock up on
condoms and sleep on the couch for a few years.

What does sleeping have to do with it?
Reminds me of a neighbor Gal I knew in Canada.....she and her DH slept in
separate rooms from the get go. They had a DD. A spinster was visiting and
in the course of conversation asked her how they had a child. Gal answered:
"We weren't sleeping".
