Spring Inspirations?

Hey Georg, I don't know what you mean by honey wagons but I don't think what we refer to as honey wagons as a sign of Spring. What is your definition for a honey wagon? I thought farmers got out into their fields with the fertilizer (honey wagons- manure carts, etc), early in the spring. They plow it in and plant. To me, that's a sign of spring. -georg |

To me a honey wagon is a cattle truck. We get "dairy compost" from the
local dairy and it has no odor. -- Mary http://community.webshots.com/user/mardor1948 "Georg" wrote in message ... Spring Inspirations?
Flowers, lots of them, pinks, purples, yellows, reds, blues, all bright and
sunny. And the bright green of the new leaves on the trees. Oak and maple leaves are bright chartreuse now. Here in Florida, my flower seeds are starting to come up (along with weeds...;-). If it weren't for the oppressive heat to come, I'd love spring as much as fall! Debi wrote in message ups.com... Hi everyone: With the weather beginning to warm up here in New Hampshire and anticipating the gorgeous spring colors to follow, I am itching to create a new wall quilt featuring spring colors. Yellow, purple and green are on the top of my list, but I am also wondering what color combinations make others think of spring. So, what does spring look like to you? All the best, Carol www.caroldoak.com |

Hi Carol, I'm not far from you up here in NH, I'm in Merrimack. At
least this week is finally starting to feel like Spring. I think of the colors in my herb garden and yard when I think about Spring, Light Sage green, Lavender and Lilacs, the light blue of the Comfrey flowers, and the crisp yellow of the Forsythias, Denise |

Okay, that's what I thought you meant. Around here it seems like they wait
until the first really warm day when everyone opens the windows - then the honey wagons appear as if by magic. -- Bonnie NJ "Georg" wrote in message ... We refer to that in my family as "good clean country air." The dairy I used to live next to kept sh** pits. Big piles of manure that really, no one wanted to be downwind of. This was sold as dairy compost, I guess, and certainly wasn't odor free. I guess whomever you get it from does a better job of making proper compost out of it. -georg |

We have the largest egg farm in the state in our neighboring township and
they are happy to supply all the local farms with their by products. It's not too bad now, at first they delivered green manure - that was really bad. Now they must wait until it's aged. -- Bonnie NJ "maryd" mardor@*net wrote in message ... To me a honey wagon is a cattle truck. Fresh chicken manure is nasty. At one time we had 3 different chicken
yards, sheep pasture, and rabbit barn. We never lacked for fertilizer. g -- Mary http://community.webshots.com/user/mardor1948 "Bonnie NJ" wrote in message link.net...
