You got it! Just as soon as I win the lottery. Maybe I should start buying
tickets?
Would a live visit stop you from calling me?

i tried that and didn't find it - maybe you need to send me a plane

ticket
so i can check in your local supermarket.

I found it by looking in the food preparation aisle in the

supermarket,
next
to the zip lock baggies and plastic wrap. ;-)

Has anyone tried it? How did you find it?

I do that too lol !! When I read messages from our Australian, NZ and English
friends, I read hearing the accent in my head.

georg.... plumbing theme/ privies

Now that's making it difficult. Privies? I suggested that as the
only way to get a W into a Turkish alphabet quilt but a *whole*
quilt of them? A standard outhouse (as in "The Specialist" or
"Dinkum Dunnies") might make a nice design, though (complete with
the little crescent moon in the door and basket of corncobs outside).

About 9 months or so ago my DH and I made a brief stop in Ohio
Amish country on our way home from Pittsburgh. I stopped in a
couple of quilt stores, drooled a lot and then decided to ask about
fabric with privies on it. The woman looked at me, blinked a couple
of times and then started chuckling. "You'd think we'd have
something like that, wouldn't you?", she laughed. She did say
that she'd keep an eye out and I should stop back in again,
which I hope to do in the next couple of months.

Crystal, but I did get some lovely butterfly fabric :-)

Thank you for thinking of me, Crystal!

It's just a mild obsession in my family. We used to go for privy hunts
when I was little- pile the whole family into the van and drive the
countryside looking for privies, which would then be photographed.

My grandfather was born in the age where such things were more
necessary, and as the age passed, he collected photgraphs and worked
them into a slideshow lecture. My father has continued the tradition,
and I hope to do the same. I have written a paper on plumbing pre-1600
for the SCA, which even won a minor award. I have a lot of books on the
subject.

It's only natural to try to weave one's interests together. I did make
an outhouse center block for my mini-RR.

I promise never to combine my interest in privies with my interest in
fermenting things, except in ridding myself of the effects of the latter
within the placement of the former. No fermenting things in chamber
pots, I promise. Although I do know someone who kept the chamber pot in
with the good china (because it was a real pretty piece!) and a guest
mistakenly grabbed that for a soup toureen. The guest was dissappointed
about how badly the soup went over, but no one in that family dared
explain why. Fortunately my thunder mug is an enameled metal thing which
I have never had to use, and it isn't kept anywhere near the kitchen.

have a copy of "The Specialist", will look for "Dinkum Dunnies"
